Show NOTED BOSTON SYMPHONY GROUP IS DUE Utah music lovers will have a chance to hear the famed Boston Symphony orchestra right here in Utah. The great symphony, making its first national tour, will perform at the LDS tabernacle in Salt Lake City on Monday, May 11. Charles Munch, music director, will conduct at the Salt Lake concert, con-cert, providing added thrills for the event. The concert is being sponsored by the Utah Symphony orchestra and tickets are obtainable now at the Utah Symphony office. Mail orders are being received from all parts of the state. Beethoven's well-known and loved Symphony No. 7 will be featured at the concert. Also included in-cluded will be Ravel's "Rapsodie Espagnole;" Debussy's prelude to "The Afternoon of a Faun;" the Royal Hunt and Storm from "The Trojans," by Berlioz, and the Barber overture, "The School for Scandal." The Utah Symphony orchestra, which has become recognized as one of America's outstanding orchestras, orches-tras, has planned this concert to open its 1953 progress fund drive. |
