Show TEENERS FORM OWN DANCE, PARTY GROUP By I'.ONME SANDERS Realizing the need for organized jecreation for teenagers, they themselves have formed a group called the Inter School Activities council. It. has been functioning for nearly a year with real success. Each school is represented on the council by two or three members. mem-bers. Those from South are Hal Milner, Shirley Kirk and Dick Anderson. I West is represented by Janet Margetts. Hal Britton and Dell Wehb, with Bill Vetter, Mary Sig-gard, Sig-gard, Sharon Parry and Marvin Melville from Granite East high's diligates are Ralph Crcer, Dave Vorse, Diane Nuttall and Ann Duf-fin. Duf-fin. Elected president of ISAC this year was Dick Anderson, son of Air. and Mrs. J. Leon Anderson. Other officers include Ralph Creer, vice president, and Janet Margetts, secretary. These officers, with the council meet each week and besides planning plan-ning swimming parties, hayrides. etc. sponsor a dance each Wednesday Wednes-day from S:30 to 11:30 p. m. in the YWCA gymnasium which is furnished free of charge. Each week a different Combo provides I dance music. The organization is entirely self supporting and managed by the students. Activities of this sort not only provide recreation for the younger set, but help to create more friendly friend-ly relationships between the schools of the area. |
