Show Westminster Plans Homecoming, Sugar House Parade committee members at Foster Hall. The parade which will include both Sugar House chamber of commerce com-merce and Wasatch prize winning bands, will form at 11:30 a.m. and proceed from 9th East along 21st South to 13th East, thence north to the campus. Immediately after the parade there will be an alumni luncheon. Plans for this have been made by acting alumni president Mrs. Del-bert Del-bert Blazard, who asks that reservations reser-vations be made at the college business busi-ness office. At 1:45 p.m. the flag-raising ceremony will begin in the stadium. The ' flag used will be the same flag whch covered the coffin of Continued on Page 3 Westminster College Homecoming Homecom-ing plans are rolling in high gear this week and will culminate in a smashup celebration Saturday, October Oc-tober 11 when the Parsons meet the Weber College Warriors on the gridiron at 2 p.m. Preceeding the game will be a 17-unit parade through the Sugar House business district, and an Alumni Luncheon at 1 p.m. on the campus. Festivities will wind up with a dance that evening at 9 p.m. in the Payne Cym. New Alumni Association officers will be elected after the game. Student body president Gus Kelkas was named general chairman chair-man of the affair. Joe Ranldi heads the parade committee; will be aided aid-ed by Barbara Ayres and Peter Ota. Color guard for the stadium flag-rasing ceremony is under supervision sup-ervision of Bob McHenry. Urban Gebo is completing arrangements ar-rangements for the dance, while the Junior class is charged with all homecoming decorations. Maurne Morley is chairman of this committee. commit-tee. Game time is 2 p.m. Tickets are a buck each for adults, students with activity cards 50c and kids two bits. Westminster Alumni Association will meet in Converse Hall after the game to elect new officers. During half time the Wasatch Academy band, current and three times winner of the Southern Legion Le-gion band contest, will perform, and the Queen will be introduced. She and her attendants will also ride in the parade. The Queen will again be introduced intro-duced at the dance that evening, as will new college president and Mrs. Richard Palmer. |
