Show SCOUT COUNCIL HONORS SEVEN The annual unit meeting of the Great Salt Lake council of Boy Scouts was held at the coliseum Saturday. Recipients of the council's highest high-est award the Silver Beaver, given for distinguished service to boyhood were seven veteran Salt Lake scouters. Included were Wil-ford Wil-ford A. Robinson, 1613 Mayfair circle, executive councli member and committeeman of troop 190; Dr. I. Owen Horsfall, 82 Virginia St., council finance chairman; Charles G. Paull, 1S07 East 3210 South, veteran swimming and first aid counselor; Valois A. Zarr, 1134 17th East, scoutmaster of troop 70 and council Sea Scout commodore; Lynn Hales, 1429 Michigan Ave., executive council member and assistant as-sistant commissioner of Twin Peaks district, and Frank M. Openshaw, 1345 Harrison Ave., Hillside district dis-trict chairman. A total of 3546 persons attended the convention. Music was furnished by the Granite Gran-ite high school band under the direction di-rection of H. Dean Alsop, and South high school A Capella choir under the leadership of Armont Willard-son. Willard-son. The trumpet call to order and the opening flag ceremony were presented by scouts of the Davis, South Davis and Bountiful districts dis-tricts under direction of Ronald Purcell. |
