Show TOWER STOHE'S LAID BY METHODIST UNIT The tower stone of the new building build-ing for the Christ Memorial Methodist Meth-odist church was laid Sunday at 2375 East 3300 South. The stone was laid by the Grand Lodge, F and A M of Utah. Rev. Monford L. Jackson, superintendent superintend-ent of the Utah-Western district of the Methodist church, delivered the dedicatory oration. The stone was laid in the wall of the tower which will rise 64 feet above grade level, marking the entrance to both the social hall-educational hall-educational unit and to the chapel which is to be built at a future date. A 35 foot stainless steel cross will surmount the tower. A committee, headed by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Haws, has been appointed to prepare pre-pare the materials which will be sealed in the stone. Invitations were sent to all neighboring Methodist churches. The pastor presided at the ceremony. cere-mony. ,T. A, Purton, chairman of the building committee, introduced Grand Master Ferdinand Erickson. Guests were B. E. Brazier, architect, archi-tect, and John DeYoung, contractor. contrac-tor. The ceremony was set for the third anniversary of the organization organiza-tion of the new church. |
