Show Lions to Provide Xmas for Needy Five households with a total of 30 youngsters will be made happy Christmas morning with the arrival of Santa Claus, laden la-den with new warm clothing, food, candy, nuts and toys the annual Christmas activity of the Sugar House Lions club. The club's welfare commlueb, headed by. Verd Edwards cnose the families from a list supplied by county welfare nurses and after clearance with the Sub foi Santa officials they went into the homes, ascertained the wants and needs of the youngsters, young-sters, and set out to give them a real merry holiday. The children chil-dren will be clothed from shoes to caps and from the skin out, and of course there will be the usual Christmas goodies and toys for all. The Lions have made this an annual undertaking for several years past, raising funds for the project through entertainments' and athletic events. One year the club built a complete home for a homeless widow and her family. fam-ily. This is the kind of activity that makes a service club worthy of the name. |
