Show Junior Floats Feature EMC Festival i ! Fifty pint-sized floats and fif-1 fif-1 ty clowns featured the 17th an- nual children's Independence I Day celebration sponsored by i the East Mill Creek Lions and Lady Lions. A quartet of charming 2-year-olds reigned over the festivities. They were Marilee Rudd, daughter- of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Rudd, 3808 S. 3rd East, queen; Russell Osguthorpe, 3691 S. 27th East, king; Diane Elsmore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nephi H. Elsmore, 2665 E. 3900 South, queen's attendant, and Gary Morris, son of Mir. and Mrs. E. L. Morris, 2543 Evergreen Ave., king's attendant. The day's activities included children's games, foot races and a carnival in the park. Lions Club members did the clowning clown-ing throughout the day. In the paliade many of the miniature entries were built by the young-' young-' sters themselves. |
