At the close of the first half of play, three teams were tied for second place, and at one time there was a possibility of a five-way five-way tie, but Evergreen ward broke the tie by winning over Rosecrest in the last night of first-half play. Tied for second place were, Grandview, Wilford, and East Mill Creek. At the beginning of the second sec-ond half, newly formed Cummings Cum-mings ward floored a team for the first time. Working against many difficulties, they nevertheless neverthe-less always gave their opponents oppon-ents a good fight. Wilford ward seemed to either win or lose all its games by a very narrow margin, mar-gin, but unluckily came out on the short end of tooViany scores. Rosecrest ward never seemed to be able' to click at the right time. Evergreen ward in the last half just couldn't get going again, and therefore, the last game of the second half found Grandview with four wins and no losses and East Mill Creek pulled ahead three points in the last minutes of the game to clinch the second half title. The following week, in another close game, East Mill Creek edged out Evergreen for the stake championship. cham-pionship.
