Show Business Women Hold Monthly Meet The Sugar House Business and Professional Women's club heard a plea for more trained nurses by Mrs. Dorothy Lowman. president of the Utah State Nurses' Association, at the club's Lincoln Day banquet held in the Covey banquet room Wednesday Wednes-day evening. Mrs. Lowman told of the expected ex-pected continued shortage, of trained nurses in Utah due to the small number of students now enrolled in nursing schools in Utah. She also told of plans which have been formulated in order to encourage more women to enter the field of profession-Mrs. profession-Mrs. Lownian's talk, the group adopted a resolution favoring the endorsement of senate bill 51 now before the legislature. The meeting was in charge of the club's health and safety committee. com-mittee. The table centerpiece was a replica of Lincoln's log cabin and red, white, and blue candles and streamers completed the patriotic theme. Mrs. Kalherine Jacobson rendered ren-dered a vocal solo, "The Flag Without a Stain," and later played a piano solo. Mrs. Afton Ackerman gave a reading. |
