Show Public Will Get Army's New Serum for Measles CHICAGO. A new medicine to prevent measles, a discovery used so far only by the armed forces, is going to be made available to the people of the United States at cost, the American Red Cross announced here. The preventive is called immune serum globulin and is obtained from the blood contributed by citizens through the Red Cross. Recent studies disclosed that the serum contains all the blood's antibodies, anti-bodies, the substances that provide . immunity after one has had a particular par-ticular disease. So far immune serum se-rum globulin has been used only for measles.
