Show VetPosts Hold Installations Joint installation for the Sugar House VFW Post 3586 and its auxiliary was held at the Post Home, 2920 Highland Dr., on A-pril A-pril 25th. at 8:00 p.m. Arnold W.Bradshaw, Past Utah State Dept. Commander, installed the following: Wallace J. Anderson, commander; Mark R. Critchfield, senior vice commander; Paul Wilkes, Wil-kes, junior vice commander; Mark Hafey, quartermaster; Jack Haf-ner, Haf-ner, chaplain; Ben Russo, surgeon; Harry B. Miller, judge advocate; and James J. Maxfield, three-year three-year trustee. Hilma Dowling, VFW State Department Dep-artment Auxiliary president was present to install the following auxiliary officers: Mrs. Fred Handsaker, president; Mrs. Dewey Stewart, senior vice president; Mrs. James J. Maxfield, junior vice president; Mrs. Arnold W. Bradshaw, treasurer; Mrs. Chas. A. Lund, secretary; Mrs. Ernest Ferguson, chaplain; Mrs. Wm. C. Clawson, conductress; Mrs. E.L. Ross.guard; and Mrs. Vern Year-sley, Year-sley, three-year trustee. Distinguished guests present were State Dept. Commander Ray Lester; State Senior Vice Commander Com-mander Don Pearce; Lyle Klotz, service officer for the Dept. of Utah; and Chief of Staff Harold Paxman. National Council Woman Mrs. Harold Paxman visited the auxiliary. Retiring Commander Harry B. Miller and past president Mrs. Vern Yearsley were recipients of a gavel and past-president's pin, respectively. Among the activities of the group is the bowling on the first Thursday of each month when the Post entertains patients from the Fort Douglas Veterans ' Administration Admini-stration Hospital, assisted by the members of the regular Veterans Bowling League. |
