E.t has won as first prize in a national contest a date with Pat Wayne, a new star on the Hollywood horizon and a son of the well-known well-known actor, John Wayne-Judy Wayne-Judy left Thursday, July 10 for Hollywood accompanied by her mother. The contest wa3 to answer the question, "Why I would like a date with Pat Wayne?" In Hollywood she will dine and dance with Pat at a top night club. Judy's reaction "Thrilled!" Cottonwood By Ann Turpln Miss Vardie Anne Jacobson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil B. Jacobson, 5061 Cottonwood Lane, proudly wears the crown and title of Salt Lake County Dairy Princess. Her attendents are Connie Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester W. Cooper, 3876 So. 6000 W., and Linda Deverall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Deverall, 1770 W. 4900 S.. Miss Jacobson will compete in the state finals this fall for the title of Utah Dairy Princess. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Nay. lor announce the engagement and coming marriage of their daughter. Carol, to Mr. Kearns Christensen. The ceremony will take place at the Naylor residence, 13th E. 64 S. on July 25. Miss Naylor was honored with a shower last Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Bruce Christensen. The bridegroom bride-groom elect will attend the U of U this fall to continue studies. stu-dies. Carol is a graduate of Granite high school. . The South Cottonwood Ward MIA sponsored an outing, Thursday, July 10, complete with games, singing around the campfire, and an occasional skit by the scouts and explorers. |
