Show SUGAR HOUSE By Elaine Reiser Letters from Mrs. James E. (Mae) Jack, 1602 South Tenth East, tell of exciting trips through England, France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland, as part of her summer vacation in Europe. She has traveled ex-tensively ex-tensively throughout these countries and will visit the Mormon Temple in Bern, Switzerland, Swit-zerland, this week. After touring tour-ing the continent, she plans to return to her relatives in England, and will attend the London Temple Dedication, September 7, before returning home. Leon Burnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. K.W. Burnett, 1621 South Tenth East, has been stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany for nearly a year, and has visited with Mrs. Jack during her visit to Germany. Leon also writes his parents of memorable visits to Brussels Worlds Fair, Switzerland and France. He has also been able to visit England, where his father served during the First World War. Leon will return home within the next six months. Visitors to the Burnett home tljis week include their daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law,. Mr. and Mrs. D. Bradley Wilde and children, Tamara, Kent, and Gregory. Mr. Wilde is a hospital hosp-ital administrator in Kansas, and they drove to Salt Lake City, with the Burnett's youngest young-est son, Bryon, who has been visiting them at their home in McPherson, Kansas. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Monday for Mrs. Ruth Condie Egeland, 1144 E. 17th S., who died Friday at her home. She is survived by five sons and two daughters. Gates home, 2050 Herbert Ave., are Mrs. Michael J. Bennett (Former Florence Marie Gates) and her children, Christopher, Mjchele and Harold. They are visiting in Salt Lake City until un-til Mr. Bennett joins them soon to return with them to their home in Dayton, Ohio. At an announcement tea Saturday afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne N. Mason, 1136 S. 15tti E., friends were told of the forthcoming marriage of Miss CloAnn Mason to Bjarne Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian O. Christensen, 1329 E. 7th S. They will wed in the ' Salt Lake Temple, August 18, and a reception at the home of her parents will honor the newly-weds. Both are attending the U of U, where Miss Mason is a senior and Mr. Christensen is a premedical student. He is currently completing six-months duty with the Army in Texas. Another Sugar House bride ( is Miss Carol McPheters. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Or-ville Or-ville McPheters, 1171 Westminister West-minister Ave. She will be married to Gerald C. Bennion, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clive Bennion, Ben-nion, 4646 Brown St., in the Salt Lake Temple, Sept. 19. They will be honored at a re' ception at Bonneville Stake Center the night of their wedding, wed-ding, and following their honeymoon honey-moon will make their home in Murray. Miss McPheters attended the U of U and Mr. Bennion was a student at the BYU. He also filled a Spanish-American Spanish-American Mission. Another lovely summer bride from Sugar House is Miss Carolyn Van Tussenbroek, whose engagement to Samuel Brooks, Jr. was announced recently. re-cently. Carolyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerritt Van Tussenbroek, 1766 S. 21st E., and Mr. Brooks is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brooks, 1998 McClelland St. Mrs. Eleanor Zwick, 864 Roosevelt Ave., has been entertaining en-tertaining her daughter and son-in-law and grandchildren for the past few weeks prior to their moving to Denver. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Harrington and their children, Linda, Jackie, Patti, Billy and Nancy, will leave July 20 for their new home. A week in Brighton, at the MIA Girls Home, was a summer sum-mer highlight for five teenagers. teenag-ers.
