Show ieetcH-Semett Mrs. Fern Houston Carter Sets Up Rig On Houston Farm The Carter Oil Company has1 moved an oil rig from Duchesne to the George Houston ranch. The well will be called the George E. Houston No. 1. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Russon have moved into their new house east of the Hi-Land Dairy in Roosevelt. They have been living with Mrs. Russon'l parents par-ents while awaiting completion of their home. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Russon have moved into the house formerly form-erly occupied by their son, Wen-dall. Wen-dall. Ivan Peterson, who has lived at Hayden for several years, has sold his farm to Keith Hor-rocks Hor-rocks and has purchased a farm in Ashley Valley, two miles north of the Uintah State Bank. Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Long received word recently from their daughter, Mrs. Glenace Palmer, that her father-in-law naa passed away at his home in Roseville, California, as a result of a stroke. The Palmers were government employees and were stationed at Fort Duchesne for a number of years. Mrs. Winfred Long has received re-ceived word that her father, J. P. Rudy, 88, is much better and is now able to be up and around part of the time. He has been seriously ill. Verle Haslem and Kenneth Long, both students at the B Y U were home for a few days last week. A Mother's Day dinner was given honoring Mrs. P. E. Russon Rus-son at the home of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Clark Roberts, of Pleasant Valley. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Orval Bowden, of Pleasant Grove, Mr. and Mrs Nebeker, of Roosevelt; Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Russon. P. E. Russon, Wayne and Phillip Russon. Rus-son. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bowen have been in Salt Lake City with their small daughter, Sandra San-dra Lee, who needed medical treatment for a thyroid disturbance. distur-bance. Mrs. Clair Haslem and Mrs. Frances Bowen attended the frozen food demonstration given Friday at Ballard by Mrs. Frei-da Frei-da Davis. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Coltharp, Mrs. B. H. Stringham and Mrs. Fern Houston were in Salt Lake for a weekend business and pleasure trip. While there they met Senator Estes Kefauv-er, Kefauv-er, who was in Salt Lake for the Democratic State Convention. Conven-tion. Mr. Kefauver is from Tennessee Ten-nessee and gave Mr. Coltharp interesting news of the Coltharp families in Tennessee, whom he knows well. We are very happy to welcome wel-come the Ercel Sprouse family back to the ward. They have purchased the home formerly owned by P. E. Russon". Beautiful Mother's Day cards were given to each mother attending at-tending Sunday School this week. All enjoyed a special program. J. A. Houston is helping move by truck the cattle belonging to Ivan Peterson, from Hayden to Vernal. |
