Show Roosevelt tVlayor Airs ProbSems With County Heads Community problems relative to Roosevelt City were discussed by Mayor J. V. McLea and the Duchesne County Commissioners this week. One major project discussed was the feasibility of building a ditch south of Roosevelt, parallel par-allel to the county road and down through the Sullivan property, pro-perty, to drain over - soared roaas. The county representatives representa-tives elected to cooperate in this project,, providing the cost is not excessive. A right-of-way easement for the Roosecelt Waterworks was granted to Roosevelt City by the county board. The easement grant states "Duchesne County does hereby grant, bargain vnd sell unto the City of Roosevelt, its successors and assigns, a right-olyway for a pipe line to convey municipal water over and upon and under the following follow-ing described lands in Duchesne County, Utah: "All county roads wherever situate in said Duchesne County, said pipe line to be buried underground' un-derground' to a depth sufficient so as not to interfere with tne use of said road or the maintenance main-tenance thereof." Extension of Lagoon Street from Roosevelt Main Street to the Union High School wus discussed dis-cussed by the mayor aud the board. Mr. McLea explained that this project would take school traffic off U. t. Highway High-way 40. Plans for coordination of this program are to be presented pre-sented later to the county commissioners. com-missioners. Mayor McLea was advised by the board that the county officials of-ficials had ho objection to the re-opening of the Roosevelt City dump on the gulch south of town if the dumping were properly prop-erly controlled and supervision of the dump grounds was handled. |
