Show tnon Hgh "c? - i (Late for Last Week) The Audibon Society is conducting conduct-ing the annual bird count in this region on Dec. 27. Merlin Killpack and Don Crittenden are in charge of this year's count. The following follow-ing people will participate in this year's count: Keith Davis, Lewis Fausett, Reed Harrison, Arlynn Cook, Ardell Olsen, Dennis Larsen and Ford Larsen. This census is conducted each year throughout the U. S. between Dec. 25 and January 2. The purpose pur-pose of this count is to determine the population and kinds of birds in each region. c-U-c On Dec. 21, the Uintah Basin Club, comprised of students from the Basin attending BYU, gave a very enjoyable assembly. c-U-c Dec. 23 was Alumni Day. Students Stu-dents from previous years came back to Union to greet former friends and renew old acquaintances. acquain-tances. The Alumni presented their annual assembly which was enjoyed by all. c-U-c The afternoon of the 23rd the students enjoyed candy and nuts and a show at the Roosevelt Theatre, which was given to them by Santa. c-U-c Marion Bowman, of the Bowman Bow-man Machinery Co. is awarding to Union High FFA a registered Poland China gilt to be used as a chain animal. Alan Murphy, a member of the chaper, will receive the award. Alan was selected for his excellent excel-lent record keeping, attitude and need. This award was made on Dec. 23. c-U-c The farm mechanics class has received 5 tons of scrap steel from the Geneva plant. This steel will be used by the students to practice welding, cutting, etc. c-U-c The Bowman Machinery Co. on Dec. 23 gave a lecture and showed show-ed slides on the care and maintenance main-tenance of the farm tractor to the farm mechanics classes. c-U-c May we here at Union wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. . |
