Show BASIN POST NO. 64 By Bill Murdock Meetings Thurs. 9th, . 16th and 23rd were well -attended in spite of the basketball games that were held during those nights. Kenneth Labrum was named to head the American Legion Oritor-ical Oritor-ical Contest, assisted by Jack Bacon. Ken, being chairman last year, should again bring a district dis-trict winner out of Union. Renae Eldredge and Barbara Ray were the winners last year, i Barbara tieing for first place in the Regional Reg-ional and . going ahead to place in the state contest was certainly an honor for herself and school. ( The Post's Youth Canteen will j be started following the New -Year. We have bought a used music machine that will make J the canteen much more enjoyable, j The membership is going all out to make this year's Canteen big-! ger and better. " Since this is the time for greet-1 ings and thank you's for the New Year, Post No. 64 wishes our town, our town's people, our American Legion friends and members mem-bers the very best in the coming New Year. Our goal for the New Year is to make Roosevelt a better bet-ter place to live. I Post 64 is completing plans for the New Year's Eve party. All members and friends are invited. Dancing, fun, favors and a 1:30 breakfast are on the program. The bare minimum will be charged, j $3.00 per couple, including break- j fast, $1.25 per couple without the j breakfast. We urge all members to get their tickets or reservations before hand, so the committee ; will know how many to plan for the breakfast Friday noon is suggested sug-gested as the deadline for reservations. |
