Show Stockmen Re-Seed Range Allotment Members of the Diamond Cattle Association, Vernal, Utah, in cooperation co-operation with the U. S. Forest Service, recently completed the seeding of 700 acres of National Forest range land. They are replanted re-planted to Smooth Brome, Crested Wheat, Intermediate Wheat, and Slender Wheatgrass is used as a summer grazing area for cattle and is potentially some of the ! most productive range land in I Utah. Seeding was done by permittees Rollin McNeill, Don Sadlier and Leo Wild. Tractors, harrows and one drill were furnished by the permittees. The Forest Service supplied the seed, one drill and did the brush eradication work. The Diamond Mountain cattle permittees and the Forest Service, through cooperative effort, are planning a betterment program on the allotment to increase the for-' for-' age produced, insure more uniform utilization of the grass, and better bet-ter watershed conditions by stabilizing stab-ilizing the soil with a healthy, vigorous plant growth. |
