Show RELIEF SOCIETY, SECOND WARD The LDS Second ward Relief Society will have the opportunity opportun-ity of participating in a special program next Thursday at 1:30 p. m., which will be centered around the subject of family night, with the president. Mrs. Carrie Wills, in charge. This special program has been arranged ar-ranged for the 5th Thursday of the month, as no regular lesson is scheduled for that day. The visiting teachers will be honored, and Bishop E. J. Nixon Nix-on will be in attendance. ALTRUS CLUB Twenty-four members and guests of Altrus club convened at the lovely new home of Mrs. Axel Birch Thursday, March 8, with Mrs. Paul Murphy acting as co-hostess. A very interesting program, featuring customs and souvenirs of Japan, was presented pre-sented by Miss Emily Madsen, of Duchesne. Mrs. Mildred Carman, Car-man, also of Duchesne, attended as a special guest. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses preceding preced-ing th business session and program. pro-gram. RELIEF SOCIETY, ROOSEVELT WARD Members of the Relief Society of the LDS Roosevelt ward are urged to attend the regular meeting next Tuesday at 2 p. m. when Mrs. Erma Eldredge will present the social science lesson. The meeting will be conducted by Mrs. Carma Winterton, first counselor. a SURPRISE PARTY A group of friends surprised Mrs. Elmer Eldredge Tuesday evening when they called at her home to help her celebrate her birthday. Guests furnished a lovely luncheon, highlighted by a beautifully decorated cake with pink roses and pink and green candles. . Attending the surprise affair were Mr. and Mrs. Marvell Niel- son, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bellon, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Clem Labrum. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Eldredge. HIGH PRIEST PARTY The home of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Rawlings was the scene of a party Tuesday night for high priests and their partners of the Roosevelt Second LDS ward. A pot-luck luncheon, games and community singing com prised the evening's entertainment entertain-ment for the following guests: Bishop and Mrs. E. J. Nixon, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shields, . Mr. and Mrs. George Hacking, Mr. and Mrs. Q. Lawson, Mr. and Mi. Cleve Houtz. Mr. and Louie Galloway, Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Milt Nickell, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jensen, Melvln Peterson, Joe Shanks, and the Rawlings. FAREWELL PARTY AND HOUSEW ARMING The home of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Tanner was a scene of gayety Friday, March 9, when they entertained in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Sabe Timothy, who have sold their farm and have moved to Roosevelt. Refreshments Refresh-ments . and decorations were suggestive of an Easter motif. The following guests enjoyed the evening playing various card games: Mr. and Mrs. Dan Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Harold White, Mr. and Mrs. Gail Tanner, Tan-ner, Mr. and Mrs. Timothy, and Mrs. Mickey Brewer, who was co-hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Timothy were entertained last Saturday night when the following friends gave them a house warming: Mr. and Mrs. James Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Max Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nelson, Mrs. Bill Nelson, Mrs. Marie Fenn and Glenda Nelson. A clever demonstration, portraying1 por-traying1 how a lady gets her driver's license, was given by Miss Nelson, with the remainder of the evening being spent playing play-ing Canasta.
