Show Merit Badges Awarded Moon Lake Scouts At Friday Court Of Honor MT. EMMONS Badges of various merit were awarded to Scouts Friday night at the Court of Honor of the Moon Lake Stake. Grant Mace, Scout field executive ex-ecutive for Uintah and Duchesne Du-chesne counties, awarded Scout-er Scout-er badges to Leon M. Burton, Willard B. Mecham, Claude Iorg, Evan O. Bennion, Grant Hansen, and Gordon Case, and first class badges to Scoutmasters Scoutmas-ters Lawrence Ward, Wilford Thompson, and Clyde Lisonbee. Linford Maxfield, the only Silver Beaver Scout in the Stake, awarded second - class badges to William Thompson, Hal McDonald, and Donald Frandsen, all of Talmage. Tenderfoot Ten-derfoot badges were awarded to 24 Scouts from Talmage, Blue bell, Altonah, and Mt. Emmons, by Leon M. Burton, first counselor coun-selor in the Stake presidency. The address of the evening was given by Rulon Dolman, chief executive of the Utah National Na-tional Parks council. Perry Max-field, Max-field, Altonah Scout, reported his experiences at the Scout National Na-tional Jamboree at Valley Forge, Pa. The remainder of the program included colors advanced by Barton Bennion, George Chapman, Chap-man, Curtis Dastrup, and Kay Wall; salute to the flag, led by Gordon Case; prayer, Evan O. Bennion; a song, "The Hiking Song," led by Deane Case; an accordian solo, Gary McDonald, Talmage; closing song, "God Bless America," led by Miss Case; and benediction, Claude McDonald. The Mt. Emmons ward mothers moth-ers served refreshments. The evening's program was directed by Claud Iorg, vice-chairman vice-chairman of the Moon Lake district, dis-trict, and William R. Evans, advancement ad-vancement chairman. |
