Bingham, of Ballard, announce the marriage of their daughter, Afton, to Lawrence Brighton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Brighton, Ballard, in a temple ceremony performed Jan. 4, in Salt Lake City. The new Mrs. Brighton is a graduate of Alterra high school, and a former student at BYU, Provo. Before her marriage she was employed in Salt Lake City. Mr. Brighton, also a graduate of Alterra high school, is an army veteran of World War II. The newlyweds will make their home in Ballard. COLLEEN ROBISON TO WED RANDLETT Of widespread interest this week is the announcement an-nouncement of the engagement of Miss Colleen e Robison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mar-riner Mar-riner F. McMullin, Randlctt, to Charles P. Wahlquist. son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Wahlquist, Wahl-quist, of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Miss Robison is in her senior year at Alterra high school. Mr. Wahlquist, a graduate of Alterra high school, is a World War II Navy veteran. He also fulfilled a two year mission for the LDS church. Plans are being made for a Salt Lake LDS temple ceremony. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Mrs. Neldon Nyberg hosted members of the Neighborhood Sewing club at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, January 4. Sewing and a delicious .dessert .des-sert luncheon provided relaxation relaxa-tion for Mrs. Floyd Labrum, Mrs. Llewelyn Jenkins, M r s. Guy Burton, Mrs. LaRue Laris, Mrs. Don Crittenden, Mrs. Parley Par-ley Rawlings, Mrs. Louie Laris, arid Mrs. George Hacking. CULTURE CLUB Members of the Roosevelt Culture club met in regular session ses-sion Monday evening, Jan. 9, at the home of Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, with Mrs. Johnnie Cook as assistant hostess. The business meeting was conducted con-ducted by President Beth Bro-den, Bro-den, after which the remainder of the evening was turned to Mrs. Carl Belts, who was in charge of an exchange program from the Socialette club. Musical Mus-ical selections included vocal selections by Miss Esther Wo-gee, Wo-gee, and a piano solo by Larry Wilson. Mrs. Vera McAllister presented a series of exhibition paintings. Dainty refreshments were served to eighteen guests. SOCIALETTE Members of Socialette club were delightfully entertained Thursday evening, Jan. 5. at the home of Mrs. Dick Bastian. The business portion of the meeting was conducted by Mrs. Ben Turner, vice president, in the absence of Mrs. Kelly Sprouse, president. The program featured a review of the book 'The Egyptian," by Mrs. Hollis Hullinger. |
