Show BASIN BRIEFS Mrs. Curtis Walton underwent an operation Monday at the Salt Lake LDS hospital. She is reported recovering satisfactor- Her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hatch, returned re-turned to Roosevelt Tuesday, while Mr. Walton and daughter, Joanne, remained in Salt Lake to be with Mrs. Walton. Bonnie Hanson and Beth Wil-cken, Wil-cken, of Clearfield, students at B.Y.U., are spending a few days with Bonnie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Leo Hanson. Mrs. . Art Norman and son returned Sunday to their home in Worland, Wyo., after a week's visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Norman. Mrs Art Allen, Kay and JJU-ane JJU-ane motored to St. George last week to attend the wedding of Mrs. Allen's nephew, Jimmy Lundberg, a former Roosevelt resident. They will visit in St. George for a time before returning return-ing home. s Mrs Dale Belcher, of Juneau, Alaska, is visiting here with her father, Dave Andrews, and other oth-er relatives and friends. Mr and Mrs. Garth Tietjen, nee Donna Rae Labrum, are visiting here with Donna's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Labrum, La-brum, who motored to Provo Monday to attend her graduation gradua-tion from B.Y.U. Mr and Mrs. B. O. Colton and their daughter, Grace, drove to Provo to attend the graduation of their daughter, Sarah, on June .5, and her wedding wed-ding to Calvin E. Nielson in the Salt Lake temple on June 6. Dale Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs Clair Larsen, motored to Albuquerque, N. M., last Saturday Satur-day to attend the high school graduation of his cousin Carl ' Schwenkie. Dale returned Mon-' Mon-' day, accompanied by Carl, who will visit here for a time. 5 Jimmy, John, and Ruth Ait-ken, Ait-ken, of Salt Lake City, visited relatives and friends here last week. Forrest D. Stone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest R. Stone, of Ft. Duchesne, was among the 630 students who were awarded degrees June 5 at the 6Qth annual an-nual commencement exercises at the University of Wyoming. Mr. Stone received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. en-gineering. Mrs. Ray Jordan and Joyce spent a few days in Salt Lake this week. SSgt. and Mrs. Val J. Mc-Clellan, Mc-Clellan, and SSgt. and Mrs. Reed McClellan, of Chanute Field, Illinois, are spending a 2-week furlough with Basin relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Leonard, of Anaheim, Calif., arrived Sunday Sun-day for a week's visit with Mrs. Leonard's mother, Mrs. Emma Sprouse, and other relatives. Home from various schools and colleges to spend summer vacations with their parents are Renee Labrum, Fern Rasmussen, Kent Nelson, Rodney Perry, Betty Jo Sprouse, Howard Galloway, Gal-loway, Ray Neilson, B.Y.U. ; Lowell Hall, U. of U.; Joyce Jordan, Joanne Walton, Yvonne Fretwell, Nancy Marimon, Joanne Jo-anne and Gerrie Griffin, Garry Mullins, Joanne Oberhansley, Jimmy Sutteer, Wayne Faulkner, Faulk-ner, Hal Helphry, Katheryn and Grace Stenberg, Wasatch Acad-.emy. Acad-.emy. Mrs. J. C. Zimmerman and Joan attended the capping ceremony cere-mony of her daughter, Ila Ruth, at St. Mark's hospital, Salt Lake, last weekend. The group enjoyed en-joyed a trip through Yellowstone Yellow-stone national park before returning re-turning to Roosevelt. Ila Ruth will return to Salt Lake Sunday to resume her studies, G. B. Workman, Multiple Crop insurance agent for Duchesne Du-chesne county, made a national record last month when he sold insurance policies to 135 producers pro-ducers out of the 139 contacted. Varation Bible school at the Roosevelt Baptist church ended June 2, with a picnic at City park at noon and a program in the evening. Rev. Charles Ray, of the Roosevelt Baptist church, left Monday for Broken Bow, Okla., where he will conduct a two-week two-week revival service at the Broken Bow First Baptist church. Mr. and Mrs. Olen Perryman and children left this week for . a visit in Lubbock, Tex., with ; Mrs. Perryman's parents. |
