Show May 6 Deadline For City Softball Roster Entries All teams expecting to participate par-ticipate in softball this year must file their rosters with Clint Nelson by May 6, according accord-ing to a decision reached Wednesday Wed-nesday night at a meeting of church officials, members of the city recreation committee, coaches, and interested individuals. individ-uals. Bennie Schmlett, chairman of the recreation committee, said that as yet no definite decision has been reached concerning the number of leagues to be organized organ-ized this year, but there is talk of Stake MIA, girls', outlaw, commercial, and county leagues, both on a youth and adult scale. The night of May 6, Mr. Schmiett announced, has been designated as work night at the Roosevelt softball field. He invites all interested parties to be at the field then to help put it in shape for the coming season. sea-son. Principal Lawrell Jensen, of Roosevelt high school, has granted permission for the bleachers at the elementary gym to be used for softball this summer. sum-mer. Mr. Schmiett said city officials offi-cials want to encourage the use of the softball field every night this summer, with the exception of Saturday, when special games will be played. The softball field concessions business, at the Wednesday meeting, was tentatively granted to the first ward Boy Scouts. |
