Show ECA Official Top Speaker At U.U. ; Conference On Governmental Problems Donald C. Stone, director of ' administration for the Economic ' Cooperation Administration, in Washington, D. C, will be featured fea-tured speaker at the fourth annual an-nual conference on governmental government-al problems, May 1-2, at the University of Utah. The conference will be sponsored spon-sored by the Institute of Government, Govern-ment, under the direction of Dr. G. Homer Durham, chairman of the department of political science. sci-ence. He will speak in Kingsbury hall at 11 8. rn., May 1, Trained at Colgate, Columbia anc4 Syracuse universities, Dr. Stone has one of the most distinguished dis-tinguished records of public service of any man in the Unit- ed States, Dr. Durham said. He has represented the U. S. at many conferences in Havana, London, and 'major cities throughout the world. He is a former director of research re-search for the International City Managers Assn., Chicago; executive ex-ecutive director of the Public Administration Service in the same city, and former assistant director of the budget in the executive office of the President, Presi-dent, a post he held until named to his present position in 1948. He also has been an advisor for the Tennessee Valley Authority, the U. S. Housing Administration, Administra-tion, the Social Security Board, and the Rural Electrification administration. |
