Show Heedle Craft Again To Be Part Of County '56 Fair Supervisors and division chairmen chair-men of the Home Arts Department for the 1956 Duchesne County Fair will cooperate again this year with the National Needle Craft Bureau in sponsoring a crochet cro-chet contest. If merited, ribbons and the gold "Best of the Fair" trophy for crocheted entries will be awarded at the local fair, reports re-ports Mary Lois Reichert, home demonstration agent. This is the national crochet contest that the county' fair has helped to sponsor for the past several years. Kerr Glass Manufacturing Corporation Cor-poration is again offering some prizes These exhibits, to win, must be canned in Kerr jars and sealed with Kerr caps. The two best exhibits of fruits will be selected. The first prize will be two dozen quart jars ,and the second prize will be one dozen Kerr quart jars. For the best canned vegetable class and the canned meat class like prizes will be given. Cotton Bag Contest Again this year, this department depart-ment will be sponsoring the Cotton Cot-ton Bag Contest. Although there are no cash prizes to be given for county fair entries, ribbons will be given to these winners in this contest; and the winning en tries may be entered in the Utah State Fair. Teen-age competition is for those boys and girls who are not participating in 4-H club work. All 4-H members will exhibit in the 4-H club department. Exhibits to be accepted in the Teen-age Competition classification include products of canning, baking, arts and crafts, and needlework. This year there will be ribbons given only to exhibitors of products pro-ducts at the county fair. There will be no merchandise prizes of any kind except the glass jars. |
