Dalgleish Myton Ward Pioneer Parade The LDS Primary parade, Wed. afternoon was greted with enthusiasm en-thusiasm by everyone who was on hand to see the youngsters portray por-tray the early pioneers Covered wagons, pushcarts, costumes reminiscent rem-iniscent of the pioneer days were highlighted by a more modern touch of gaily decorated bicycles, tricycles and tiny autos peddled by happy children. The teachers guided their charges through the business district and retorned to the ward chapel to complete their program. 'Mr. and Mrs. David Tanner and daughter, Mrs. Bill Boren and daughter, Vickie and Jerry, Wayne and Karen Allred, children of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Allred participated partici-pated in an outing to Artesia, Colo, on July 24 to visit Mr. and Mrs. Gale Tanner and' famdlv Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Church, Tuesday and . Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sauil of Cameron, Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Todd accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Richardson of Roosevelt enjoyed a trip to Provo Wednesday, Wednes-day, returning that evening Mr. and' Mrs. Ole Hanson and children visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. . W. R. Harris last week as they were enroute from a vacation in Aspen, Colo, to their home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Harris accompanied them to Salt Lake to spend a few days at the Hanson home and to receive medical medi-cal attention. Visitors at the A. C. Tolboe home last wekend were Mrs. Tol-boe's Tol-boe's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas S Bullock and Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Slaton of Provo. Mrs. Tolboe accompanied accomp-anied them to Provo for a few daysi visit and was joined on the 24th by her husband and nephew, Chall Wood, who brought heT home that evening, that evening. Visitors one day last week at the home of Mrs. Bliss Lott, were Mrs. W. H. Koeler and Mrs. Martha Nelson of Vernal. Mrs. Lott returned with them to Vernal Ver-nal for a short visit at the Koehler home. Mrs. Ole Peterson enjoyed a weekend visit from her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Collis of Ogden. They also visited another an-other niece, Mrs. Leandrew Gilbert Gil-bert during their short stay. Mr and Mrs. Ray Ortega came from Homedale, Idaho to visit Mrs. Ortaga's father, Felix Quin-tana Quin-tana and her sister and brother-in-law, Mr and Mrs. Evan Peterson. Peter-son. They also went to Rangely, Colo, to visit their daughter, Mrs. Orlo Mayberry. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Church went to Kanab Friday to spend the weekend with members of their family and attend to their property prop-erty interests. Mrs. Alice Brummett returned home from Areata, Calif, where she visited her son Vern and his wife. She also visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gallyer at Fresno, Calif: Her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Brummett brought her from Salt Lake and returned that day leaving leav-ing their daughter, Doris Ann to visit her grandmother. Robert Sands is spending a short vacation with his mother, Mrs. Iola Sands.' He has been employed at Aberdeen, Idaho and at Vancouver, Van-couver, Washington and will return re-turn there at the close of his vacation. va-cation. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leandrew Gilbertt from Wed. to Friday were her son and daughter-in-law, Br. and Mrs. Willard Dearden of Bingham. Blaine Brokaw and Donnell Brokaw who are employed at Castlegate came to spend the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Brokaw. Miss Alice Todd and her sister, Mrs. George Philipps who is visiting visit-ing her from New York City, were luncheon guests, Saturday at the home of Mrs. C. L. Piper in Vernal. Ver-nal. ' Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bunce of Martinez, Calif., and Mrs. Bunce's mother, Mrs. Josephine Iverson, of Provo arrived Thursday to a few days visiting friends and relatives re-latives in Myton and other parts of tht Basin. They are guests at the homes of Mrs. Erastus Curtis, sisiter of Mrs. Iverson, and Earl Fowler, her brother-in-law. Terry Calvert is visiting at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Nielson, coming from Golden, Gold-en, Colo.,, where he has been employed, em-ployed, Terry also spent a few days in Salt Lake City to visit his father, Bertrand' Calvert. Mrs. Lydia Nielson accompanied her daguhter and son-inJaw, Mr. and Mrs. Arden Hacking on a vacation va-cation trip to Salt Lake City, Bountiful and Brigham where they visited relatives. They returned by way of Manila, Daggett County, to visit Mr. and Mrs. Colin Nielson, Niel-son, but found the had come to Myton. The group then had a family "get-to-gether" here on the 24th of July. Mrs. Sarah Nielson visited in Roosevelt Tuesday at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bird. Mrs. Denzel Hemphill returned from Salt Lake City Thursday after a short visit at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Larsen. Mr. and Mrs. Hale Holgate of Arcadia visited Mrs. Sarah Nielson, Niel-son, Wednesday, to check on her recovery from surgery for a fractured frac-tured hip. Mrs. Nielson is improving, im-proving, but is still confined to her wheel chair. Visitors Sunday at the home of Mrs. Lydia Nielson were her son and daughter-in-law, Mr and' Mrs. William Nielson of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish joined other employees of the Uintah Power and Light Co. Sunday Sun-day att the Power plant in Uintah Canyon where they all enjoyed a picinic. The event was complimentary compli-mentary to Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Beebe of Duchesne who will leave next week for Pocatello, Idaho, where Mr. Beebe has accepted a position. He has been a member of the Duchesne crew of the Uintah Power and Light Co. for several years. |
