Show con Lake Scout Advancements Top National Ellark People in the Moon Lake Scout District area are experiencing one of the greatest booms any district in America has known as advancement advance-ment in the Distrct soars over 300 higher during 1955-56 than it was in 1954-55, reports Floyd Loveridge, scout executive of, the Utah National Parks Council. In 1954-55 a total of 47 advancements ad-vancements in rank were made. For the scouting year ending Aug. 30, 1956, over 141 advancements in rank have been made. This is better than an average of one advancement in rank per boy. Boy membership for the past year has stayed about constant with the previous year but the district shows an increase of one scouting unit the explorer post at Boneta. Camping for 1955-56 in Moon Lake District is up 60 over the 1954-55 record. Participation in the Camporee this year increased from 10 to 44; and the attendance at the 1956 High Uintah Scout Camp increased to 39 over a record of 29 at the 1955' six day camp. More Leaders Twice as many adult leaders were trained during 1955-56 than during ithe previous year. This year's list of graduates from formal for-mal course list 25 as compared to 13 of the year before Leadership responsible for the outstanding boom of scouting in Moon Lake District are: Glen Mohlman, district chairman; Wm. R. Evans, district vice-chairman; Dale Cummings, advancemnet chairman; Cloyd' Powell, organization organi-zation and extension chairman; James Powell, finance chairman; Ben C. Gomm, leadership training train-ing chairman; Jesse Palm, camping -and activities chairman and W. Grant Peel as District Commissioner. |
