Show Increase fioted By Safeway Thru Dairy Umilh Safeway Stores enjoyed a suo ; stantial sales increase in all categories cat-egories of dairy products as a result of its June Dairy Montn promotion, undertaken in coop eration with the organized dairy interests of the state, W. E. Wil-lims, Wil-lims, manager of the Company's . Salt Lake Distribution Division, announced today. Judging of the June Dairy Month essays is underway and the winners are expected to be announced later in July, Mr. Williams explained. A Stude-baker Stude-baker sedan will be awarded as first prize, 1,000 quarts of milk as second prize and 500 quarts as third prize. "More important than our increased in-creased sales, was the stimulation stimula-tion of public interest in the dairymen's problems and the importance of dairying to our economy," Mr. Williams said. "Thousands of entries, showing careful thought and preparation, have been received and forwarded forward-ed to' the dairy people who are acting as judges. "We are gratified at the response re-sponse and feel that the effort and expense will be repaid many times in a wider appreciation apprecia-tion of the dairy industry oy all consumers." Mr. Williams' division launched launch-ed the promotion with a $20,-000 $20,-000 advertising program, backed by aggressive sales effort in the Utah and Idaho stores of the Salt Lake Division. Newspapers constituted the primary advertising adver-tising medium with radio and television programs as supplements. |
