Show Flash Flood Traps Vard Timber Workers July 81 Several men of the Bridge-land Bridge-land ward were trapped at a saw mill site in Sowers Canyon by Friday's flash flood. The group was in the area sawing logs for timbers for the new Bridgeland ward chapel. Those stranded in the area overnight were Pat Mayer, Roy Taylor, George Marret, Ronald Liddell, and two other helpers. Joe Shields and Joe Shepard were able to come from Sowers Canyon that night with the Wm. C. Foy family in their pick-up truck. They had walked to the Foy ranch from the sawmill site. The roads in Sowers Canyon were impassable with motor vehicle ve-hicle after the flood. Saturday, other men of the Bridgeland ward went to the Foy ranch, got saddle horses, and went to the sawmill site to bring out the stranded workers. work-ers. Those men taking in the horses were Elden Liddell, Ken Nielsen, Reed Stansfield, Ronald Ron-ald Liddell and Rulon Liddell. |
