Show Benefit Dance To Aid Member The local chapter of the American Legion sponsored a benefit dance for Vern Titcomb, who is in serious condition at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. Reese Timothy's orchestra furnished fur-nished the music. Mrs. Wm. Bond and her son, John, who is just home from Korea, and her son, Neal, represented the family fam-ily at the dance. Mr. and Mrs. James B. Lemon spent the past week at the home of their daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs Max Hart-man, Hart-man, and family. Curtis Dastrup and Cecil Wall entered the UBIC talent show WIN SOFTBALL GAME The Myton married women's softball team competed with the Roosevelt team Thursday evening eve-ning at the Roosevelt ball park. The score was 24 to 18 in favor of Myton. Members of the Myton My-ton team are: Lula Gilbert, Bet ty Hancock, Renae Hancock, Ar-va Ar-va Abegglen, Marie Abegglen, Marjorie Muiere, Ada Fenn, Frances Reynolds, Alice lorg, Barbara Ross and Thora Perry. at Neola on Monday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Thacker and family returned to Hollis-ter, Hollis-ter, Calif., Friday, wrere Mr. Thacker has his job. Mr and Mrs. Chester Hart- man entertained Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cace, of Duchesne, last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stevenson Steven-son went to Salt Lake City on business last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Max Hartman and family, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. James B. Lemon, attended at-tended the Lemon family reunion reun-ion in Salt Lake, Saturday of last week. Miss Sherri Hartman remained in Salt Lake to spend the week with her aunt and uncle. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Timothy visited with Mr. and Mrs. La-Vere La-Vere Timothy and Mr. and Mrs. Linden Hansen for the weekend of July 10, 11, and 12. Mr. and Mrs. LaVere Timothy and Mr. and "Mrs. Heber Timothy spent Saturday overnight at the Clarence Clar-ence Jones Lodge. During Mr. and Mrs. Jewel Kolb's recent two weeks' trip to San Diego, they visited Zion's Canyon, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon. Miss Bernice Boswell was home to visit her folks over the last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Thayne, of Salt Lake City, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Evan Hansen and Edgar Thayne on Wednesday of last week. Mr. Thayne, Mrs. Hansen's brother was the successful suc-cessful bidder for construction of the REA plant at Rangely. A friend, Mrs. Fern Johnson, an companied them. Private Neal Dastrup was home on a week's furlough before be-fore reporting to Camp Stone-man Stone-man in California, from which he is to be sent overseas soon after his return on July 23rd. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dastrup, of Salt Lake, came out to spend some time with the family while Neal was home. The two families, together togeth-er with the Bernard Dastrup family, held an outing on Sun day afternoon at Crystal's ranch. Moyle Parker came Saturday of last week to' get his wife and new daughter, who have been with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Case, and family for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Mart Hislop and sons are staying at the REA plant while Mr. and Mrs. Jess Allen are taking a two weeks' vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Gethan What-cott What-cott and children, of Ogden. spent the weekend from Friday till Monday with Mr. and Mrs. LaVere Timothy and family Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hartman Hart-man went to Salt Lake City on business Tuesday and Wednesday Wednes-day of last week. Mrs. Ida Roberts, of Salt Lake City, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Merkley to Altamont to visit her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Thacker, for the weekend. Mrs. Roberts is convalescing from a major operation. oper-ation. Mrs. Anthon Rust and daughter, daugh-ter, Melba. went to' Salt Lake from Saturday till Monday to help her parents get settled in their new home. Less Orr celebrated his birthday birth-day with a family outing at Moon Lake last Saturday and Sunday. Besides Mr. and Mrs. Orr, Mr. and Mrs. Art Case, Mr and Mrs. Pete Nielsen, and Mr. and Mrs Karl Allen were there. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hansen and children visited with Mr. and Mrs. Linden Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Hansen last Sunday. Miss Susie Sprouse has been a guest at her grandparents' j home for several days. |
