ELMER LAPOINT Funeral services were conducted in the Lapoint LDS chapel Tuesday, July 21, for Mrs. Donna Sprouse Elmer, 35, wife of Garth Elmer, who died in the Roosevelt LDS Hospital Hos-pital Saturday of a cerebral hemorhage. Bishop L. J. Walker conducted the services. Mrs. Elmer was born Sept. 22, 1917, at Lapoint, a daughter of William and Mae Johnson Sprouse. She resided here most of her life. Burial was in the Rock Point Cemetery at Maeser, under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary Mortu-ary of Roosevelt. CLARENCE BURTON LAPOINT Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at I 1 p.m. in the Lapoint chapel, I Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for Clarence Burton Bur-ton 71, who died at his home Sunday at 8 p.m. after a long illness. Bishop Lee Walker conducted con-ducted the services. He was born May 10, 1889, in Jensen, Uintah County, a son of John Ira and Hattie Terrell Burton. He married Delia Hathaway, Hath-away, Dec. 5, 1907 in Duchesne. He is survived by his widow, a son and two daughters, Thomas Thom-as Burton. Roosevelt; Mrs. Wan-etta Wan-etta Caldwell, Vernal, and Mrs. Jenna Vieve Neilsen, Lapoint; 14 grandchildren; two' brothers, Guy Burton, Roosevelt, and Charlie Burton, Lapoint, and four sisters, Mrs. Carey Merk-ley, Merk-ley, Mrs. Nola McNeil, Mrs. Marie Dodds and Mrs. , Neva Ashby, all of Vernal. Burial was in the Lapoint Cemetery under the direction of the Dillman Mortuary of Roosevelt. |
