Show Ellen Bracken Pot-Luck Dinner Honors Family Which Is Moving Mr. and Mrs. Morris Winn and family, of Neola; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gardner and family, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Winn and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Vee Winn and family, Mrs. Effie Winn, Alterra; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Winn and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Smith, Independence; Indepen-dence; Mrs. Robert Dean and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dean and daughter, of Roosevelt, held a family farewell party for Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Winn at their home south of Fort Duchesne Thursday evening:. A pot-luck supper was enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brisbin are the proud parents of a baby sirl born at the Roosevelt hospital last week. This is the fourth daughter for the Brisbins. Mrs. Ora Coston and Mrs. Velma Winn, cooks at the school kitchen at Alterra, attended a cooks' get-together in Vernal one afternoon last week. The officers and teachers of the M.I.A. held a meeting in the chapel Thursday evening, with George Hacking and Floyd Ross, of the Stake M.I.A. Board in attendance. at-tendance. John Cook and son. Wayne, made an extended visit recently in Rangely at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Westwood. Little Rose Marie Kettle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle, was quite ill all last week. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Collins and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Collins, of Salt Lake City, paid a short visit with friends and relatives last week. Bryce White, Glen Womack and Lynn Bracken, who are attending at-tending the B.Y.U., spent the week end with home folks and enjoyed 'a pheasant hunt. They also attended stake conference Sunday. Glen and Lynn are both members of the R.O.T.C. at B.Y.U. Mr, and Mrs. Leo Hatch and family, of Heber Cityi were guests during the pheasant season sea-son at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hatch. They also visited with Mrs. Hatch's mother, Mrs. ' Rilla Fieldstead, of Roosevelt. Mrs. Ralph McMullin. their son, Darrel, and twin daughters, Sharon and Karen, made a trip to Salt Lake City on Tuesday, where Darrel received medical care. Howard Todd, who is attending attend-ing school at U.S.A.C., Logan, spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rssel Todd. Howard reported his' recent re-cent L.D.S. mission at stake quarterly conference. Mr. and Mrs. Goff, of Independence, Inde-pendence, have been in Salt Lake City for several weeks at the bedside of Mrs. Goff's father, who is very ill. Mrs. Wilson Gutzman. of Ft. Duchesne, was a substitute teacher several days last week. She replaced Mrs. Mary Bur-- Bur-- gess at Alterra. Mrs. Earl Gardner, Mrs. Kay Arnold and Mrs. Geo. Bracken have been substitutes in the Alterra Al-terra school kitchen during the past week. Charles A. Pool and Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Pool and small daughter of Salt Lake City, spent the pheasant season as guests of Mr and Mrs. Elton Kettle and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bracken. Wm. Swisher, Jr., is spending his vacation at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Swisher. He is employed at Billings, Bill-ings, Montana. Boyd and Ferris- Winn made a trip to Salt Lake City and back on Thursday. Mrs. Lola Christensen, head supervisor of the hot lunch department, de-partment, visited Alterra school Tuesday. . Deanne Asay, Carolyn Ross and Wendel Johnson participated jin the Seminary program presented pre-sented at the two Roosevelt j wards on October 28. B r i g h a m Christensen and (daughter, Ravon, and Ravon's husband, of Santa Monica, California Cal-ifornia were recent visitors in Roosevelt. The Christensen family fam-ily at one time owned the farm where Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Brighton Brigh-ton live. Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Winn and daughters, who are leaving soon for Arizona, were honored at a farewell party at the Roosevelt Baptist church Friday evening. Mrs. S. B. Kettle received word last week that a niece, her 1 husband, and their three children chil-dren had been killed in an air plane crash in Washington. A Hallowe'en party was held at Alterra school Wednesday evening for students and their parents. A large crowd was in attendance to enjoy the fish pond and games. Cakes, pies, doughnuts, pop-corn balls and candy were sold. Mr. and Mrs. Randy Lynch and a friend, from California, stopped off here enroute rom their trip to Minnesota to enjoy a day of pheasant hunting. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Showell and children and Mr. and Mrs. John McCormick and son, of Salt Lake City were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Kettle during the pheasant season. |
