Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Reno of Upalco were in Roosevelt Saturday Satur-day shopping. Miss Margaret James of Jack-1 son, Wyoming has been a guest at the Horace Allred home the past week. Mrs. Verland Nelson and Mrs. Henry Nelson spent the week end at Bingham canyon visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Sam G. Weiss and son, Dickie are spending a few days in Salt Lake visiting at the home of Mrs, Weiss' parents. Mrs. Ren Fenn is in Provo at the hospital receiving medical care. Her many friends hope for a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Burgess and Mrs. John S. Redmond spent a few days in Salt Lake over the week end visiting. Majion Mortensen went to Salt Lake City Tuesday on business busi-ness in connection, with the Mortensen store here. Mr. and Mrs. Antone R. Ivins and Fenno Casto were guests at the Dillman home during their stay in Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence L. Ash-ton Ash-ton spent a few days in Salt Lake City on business. They left Wednesday morning. Mrs. Ira Gagon of Silver Creek, Colorado is visiting friends and relatives in Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Bob Evans, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. P. Evans of Salt Lake City is a guest at the Ray E. Dill-man Dill-man home. Mrs. Albert Crumbo and daughter, Jeanne spent a few days last week . in Duchesne visiting. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Jordan and daughter, Joyce spent the past week end at their cabin in Uintah Uin-tah canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Lambert, who have been in Salt Lake City for some time, returned to Roosevelt this week where they will visit for some time. Mrs. Claude Empey and two sons of Price are visiting at the home of Mrs. Empey's brother, George Taylor. They will return to their home Saturday. Mrs. Julia Jordan, sister of John S. Redmond is here visiting. visit-ing. Mrs. Jordan is enroute to her home in Elwood, Indiana from California. She will visit here until the 23rd, Mrs. Minnie Thomas and daughter in law, Mrs. Basil Thomas and children of Salt Lake City were here visiting friends and relatives the first part of the week. Basil is in the U S Marines and is now serving somewhere overseas. Mrs. E. J. Tree and two daughters, daugh-ters, Lillie and Genevieve of Park City, were guests last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mitchell. Mrs. Tree is a sister of Mrs. Mitchell. While here her daughter Genevieve signed a contract to teach at the Roosevelt High school as instructor instruc-tor of English. Canyon Picnic The employees of the Uintah Power and Light Company and their families gathered at the Power plant in Uintah canyon for a very enjoyable picnic Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Mrs. V. A. Bair and A. L. Scholes were in charge of arrangements. Present were the following employees and their wives, Cecil Mecham, El-Roy El-Roy Wilkins, Fred Wardle, Dan Allen, Ronald Page, Dick Scholes, V. A. Bair, Jack Wis-combe, Wis-combe, Jack Mohlman and Mrs. E. Randolph, also invited guests included Mr. and Mrs. Horace Colthorp of Hayden, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Marimon, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chamberlyn of Whiterocks and Miss Erna Lar-sen Lar-sen of Roosevelt. It was decided at the picnic that they would make this an annual affair sponsored by the employees. |
