Show Uintah Basin Man Wins Runoff Congress Race B. H. Stringham of Vernal won the Republican nomination for congress in Utah's first district dis-trict in Tuesday's runoff primary, pri-mary, by a decesive margin. "Bry" who has been Mayor of Vernal for the past two terms, and who served two terms as representative cf Uintah county in the state Legislature and well known throughout the entire state, piled up a comfortable lead in the early returns of the runoff election and as the scattered scat-tered reports drifted in from the southern and southeastern sections of the state. In the November election, Mayor Stringham will run against Walter K. Granger, democratic dem-ocratic incumbent of Cedar City who received the nomination for a third term bid without a primary contest. |
