Bige-;. low the past 2 years. ; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hackford announce the arrival of a 8V& ' lb. baby girl born July 28. Mrs. ( Hackford has been at the Ft. Duchesne hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Hullin-' Hullin-' ger of Ogden were calling on ) friends in Lapoint Monday. ) Lewis Kump and family of ) Provo were visiting his sisters, ) Mrs. Eliza Nelson and Barbara ; Myberg and his brothers, Zack j and George Kump last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mock of ! Kennelworth visited Mr. and ! Mrs. Rile Blackburn over the ' week end. ' Hayden Foster entertained ) his Sunday school class Monday ) night at his home in honor of I his son, Ray who left Saturday I for Salt Lake City where he has I enlisted in the Merchant Mar-j Mar-j ines, also for Neldon Reynolds , of the U S Navy who was home ; on a furlough and also left Sat-' Sat-' urday for San Francisco. Games were played and lunch served. Barbara Rasmussen visited in Salt Lake City and Ogden during dur-ing the week. Claud Garanger and family of Taylorsville were visiting her sister, Mrs. Charles Bigelow and family and friends here during the week. They were former residents of Lapoint. Mrs. Mary Glines of Vernal visited her daughter, Mrs. Thur-mer Thur-mer Rasmussen and family the past week. Mrs. Sylvia Blackburn received re-ceived a letter from her son, Floyd Searle who is a merchant Marine somewhere on the Pacific. Pa-cific. This is the first word they have received since he left Los Angeles April 1st. She also received re-ceived a letter from her son, Preston who has been in England Eng-land this summer and who is now in France. Nyal Bigelow, the 11 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bigelow Big-elow had the misfortune to have j his pony fall on him, breaking his shoulder in two places Wednesday. Wed-nesday. It was necessary to take him to the Holy Cross hospital in Salt Lake City for treatment. George Bigelow accompanied them there. The new Relief society presidency, presi-dency, Mrs. Agnes Walker, Mary Hacking, Thelma Bisel and Pearl Norton entertained at a party in the Lapoint chapel Wednesday afternoon in honor of the outgoing officers, Lillian Bigelow, Alice Angus and Rhoda Lee. A program was rendered ren-dered and lunch served. A beautiful beau-tiful quilt was presented to each one for their services in the Relief Re-lief society for the past 9V years. Mrs, Sike Thompson received a letter from her nephew, Lowell Low-ell Perry who was formerly of Lapoint, that he had been in the jungles of India for the past 2 years. His mother, Mrs. George Perry is living in Missouri. E. F. Pillsbury and Emma Stevenson returned to Salt Lake City on Wednesday, after visiting visit-ing with folks here during the week. Mrs, Sarah Rasmussen and grand daughter, Clathella Rasmussen Ras-mussen of Layton are visiting relatives and friends here. They were former residents of Lapoint, La-point, Clifford Bigelow accompanied his father, Raymond Bigelow to Salt Lake City during the week and visited at the home of Dean Bigelow and son, Dallas. Norma Merkley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs .Golden Merkley of Salt Lake City is visiting her cousin, Joyce Bigelow. Mrs. Rae Stewart of Salt Lake City spent the week end here visiting her father, Eli Smith and sister, Wilma Angus and family. Clara Belle and Jaycc Marshall, Mar-shall, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. James Marshall of Fontana, California, Cal-ifornia, are visiting their aunt, Ethel Taylor and family. Therman Taylor and family of Meeker, Colorado, visited his mother, Mrs. Roxa Taylor and her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Thompson and other relatives. Mrs, Eliza Nelson received word from her son, Vernon that he was in the Navy and was stationed at San Diego, California, Californ-ia, where he has spent the past three years working in an Air plane factory. Mrs. Emily Hackford left Thursday morning for San Diego, California to be with her husband who is stationed there with the Navy. They were former form-er residents of Lapoint. Wm. Sprouse of Bingham was visiting relatives and friends here over the week end. He also attended the funeral of his brother in law, Tom Kelsey held at Roosevelt Friday. ' Mrs. Beth Perry left Sunday for San Diego, California to be with her husband Lyle Perry who is stationed at the Marine Base there. j |
