| Show PARENTS SHOULD COOPERATE WITH TEACHERS by superintendent A J ashman I 1 suggest three ways by which parents may cooperate with teachers with good results on the school I 1 parents are responsible for sending pupils to school in good health if teeth are bad or tonsils are disease ed or the pupil is undernourished under nourished school progress is very difficult its the healthy pupil that learns most easily and advances most rapidly parents should therefore resolve that children shall be kept k ept in good health h 2 keep pupils in in school regularly and send them pr promptly 0 aptly no teacher can instruct an absent a pupil in addition then to the pupils loss of in instruction st by being absent he loses courage because lie he cannot keep up with his class he has no spirit for getting ahead because he is out of touch with liis his daily work it is always the pupil with a poor attendance record who becomes a problem pupil and drops out of school early regular and prompt attendance is a necessity for successful work and only parents can see that this is brought about 3 know your pupils teacher go to school and get personally acquainted with inath your childrens teachers then you can together take up such things as are best for the child keep in in touch with your childs stan standing c ling in liis his various classes visit the classes in which lie he may be weak or failing an active interest on the part of the parent in the teacher and the work of the school will always secure better results than indifference |
