| Show A SOLID republican COUNTY administration the election of november 6 has again demonstrated the fact that the people of sevier county art are safe for the republican party sevier county has as always been republican with the exception of the first year four years of the wilson administration the county offices always filled with a majority of men of republican leanings usually one democrat however was sitting with two republicans on the county board this year the people have elected two republicans for county commissioners and a republican for county at attorney tomey with the holdover commissioner a republican the entire board will be composed of republicans and the holdovers in in the of offices cices of clerk treasurer recorder and assessor all being of republican affiliation the entire county administration will be in the hands of republicans we consider this a good thing because in a case like this there cannot be any shifting of responsibility or as goes no passing the buck the holdover commissioner is experienced perien Prien ced in county affairs having served in the capacity of commissioner once before the two newly elected men are of highest calibre and of the very best material that can be found in the county we think therefore that the countes coun tys bubines is in good hands and we may expect that it will be handled liand led in an efficient and at the same time economical way all three of the commissioners are heavy ta taxpayers and feel themselves the onerous burden of high taxes if they will work towards alleviating alevia aleia ting the weight of that burden they will work for themselves as well as for the people and this at the present time is the only means of attracting capital creating industries and implicitly to aid agriculture it will be the best farm relief that any man of any party can think of that wie we also remained republican in our senatorial and judicial district that we elected a republican state senator a republican judge and we might add here that our present judge on account of his proven outstanding qualifications would have been elected whether republican or democrat and that we elected a republican district attorney will unify the entire district and contribute to the expected proficiency of administrative legislative and judicial matters while we as stated above remain solidly in the republican ranks thel the majorities in some cases were not as big as they should have been which indicates that in some quarters dissatisfaction exists we will go a step fart farther farthier fier and admit that in part such dissatisfaction is justified and ahoi should nat be taken lightly but at the same time it was not so big as to throw sevier county into the other party and consequently it should servo serve to the newly elected officers is as an incentive to do their very best to show the people that the confidence placed in the candidates was not misplaced |
