Show Millions For Comfort 1 While the modern woman is not a slave to housekeeping, as her mothei and grandmother were, the average American home now has conveniences convenienc-es and comforts far beyond those of earlier days, when all household task, were performed by hand. The insistence of present day women wo-men for relief from the drudgery of the past is illustrated by the expenditure expendi-ture of more than $300,000,000 last year for electrical home applances, according to C. U. Williams, manufacturer manu-facturer of Oilomatic oil burners, who has mr.de a recent sttudy of figures dealing with household equipment. Among the devices installed during dur-ing the year were 463,000 electric refrigerators, re-frigerators, 92,500 motor-driven oil burners, and many thousands of washing wash-ing machines, vacuum cleaners, sewing sew-ing machines and other aids to housekeeping house-keeping which are today regarded as esesntial to the well equipped home. With the rapid spread of electric lines to the smaller communitiees and rural districts, these "wife-savers" are being made available to an ever increasing number of women. And every considerate husband will see that his wife has all of these convenienc-s that the family purse can afford. |
