Show Mining's Monument Western America is the mining industry's monument. Discovery of precious metals started the great trek toward the I Pacific. When the gold rush was . over, the mining industry remained r to be a great developer of westerr states. It provided a livelihood foi : ' thousands of families, spent billions bil-lions of dollars for supplies and contributed a major part of the cost of government. The mines may be running at slow speed now, but they will speed up again. Hardly a human occupation would be possible without with-out metals. And at this time, it behooves every state to aid, in every ev-ery way, this great industry. |
