Show Phone Charges To Be Reduced Following up the recent, nation-wide reduction of long distance telephone rates with another reduction, the Moun tain States Telephone and Telegraph Company has announced substantially lower charges, effective March 1st, for connecting new or additional telephone facilities in the home or office and for changing existing equipment. This, according to the announcement, is in accord with the Bell System's policy of providing the most telephone service and the best, at the least cost to the public. The new charges are lower for the connecting of service, and do not affect af-fect the regular monthly charges. These are the specific reductions: The charge for connecting a residence telephone has been cut from $3.50 to $2.50. The charge for connecting business telephone extensions has been reduced still more, from $3.50 to $1.25. The charge for connecting residence telephone extensions has been reduced from $3.50 to $1.00 and the charge for connecting instruments already in place is now $1.00 regardless of the amount of equipment involved. The charge for moving a telephone from one part of the home or office to another part is now $1.00 as compared com-pared to the former rate of $3.00, and the charge for changing the type of telephone set is also cut from $3.00 to $1.00. |
