Show Ex- Utalhn Aids Ripley in 'Believe It or Not' Quest Joseph L. Simpson started on a long and interesting journey to the south seas and the orient in quest of strange sights, queer things and odd doings in fact, all sorts of "unbelievable truths." Joseph L. Simpson, former resident resi-dent of Mt. Pleasant and former student of the University of Utah and a member of the local chapter chap-ter of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, frater-nity, left New York Saturday with Robert L Ripley, whose "Believo It or Not" is a daily and Sunday feature in the Salt Lake Tfibune and many other papers. Mr Simpson is secretary to the creator creat-or of the famous feature. Mr. Simpson left Salt Lake three years ago to attend Columbia university uni-versity in New York, later becoming becom-ing secretary to Mr. Ripley. A sister, Mrs. Earle F. Gardemann, lives at 1337 Bryan avenue, Salt Lake. Mr. Simpson and Mr. Ripley will first go to Los Angeles and will sail from there on the S. S. Mariposa.
