Show Lavar Hill Bags 4th "Big Cat" Lavar Hill bagged another lion Wednesday. He was assisted in making the kill by Mr. Poulson of Ephraim. Leaving Mayfield Wednesdav morning the men went up Twelve Mile Canyon. At the mouth of Clear Creek Canyon the dogs struck a fresh trail which led to a three-point buck that had been killed recently and partly devoured. devour-ed. The carcass of the deer had been hidden in a wash by the lion From this point the tracks of Mr. Lion showed that he had gone up the steep rocky north side of the canyon. T!r; dogs took the trail and fina'ly located the big cat near the top of the mountain, where they trcc-d tne outlaw and kept him then for an hour or two until the men wre able to climb the rough, snow covered mountain. While following his dogs Mr. Hill lost his horse and gun. The horse slipped and fell, rolling down the side cf the mountain The gun, which was fastened to Ihe horse was broken into several pieces. When the horse was lo-' lo-' cated by Mr. Hill, it was badly hurt but will undoubtedly recover. This lion is the fourth one killed kill-ed by Mr. Hill this winter. Manti Messenger. |
