Show Lions Give Moral Support to The Poultry Industry The Lions club held its semimonthly semi-monthly meeting Wednesday evening eve-ning at the home of Mrs. Anthon Madsen. Lion A. E. Darley, chairman cf the Poultry Project, reported tha: "Poultry Day" will be held in this city, Friday January 17. This will include a visit to all local poultry-farms, poultry-farms, those visiting to meet at the post office at 1 p. m. where transportation will be provided for all who have not their own means of transportation. Following the inspection tour, a meeting will be held at the high school, the first in an attempt to establish a local school for poultry, where Grant Iv-;ns Iv-;ns of the Brigham Young Uuivers ity, will be the speaker. People will here be enrolled for the school. No charge will be 'nade. This meeting will be the first of a series of ten meetings, planned for the school. Mr. Darley also reported that the banquet to be given the 'Future Farmers of America," by the Lions clubs of Mount Pleasant, Spring City and Fairview, will be held at ;'ne North Sanpete high school, Wednesday evening, January 22nd. Seth J. Larsen of Stirling, Canada, Cana-da, gave a short talk on "Community "Communi-ty Pride and resources of Denmark." Den-mark." Miric was furnished by Harold VV. Fildey and Miss Vida Poulsen. Dr. P. L. Holman, District Gov trnor, delivered an address on "Character education." Supt. A. E. Jones discussed the hooks "Studies in Conduct" and "The Moral Code for Youth," which ti e Lions internation is attempting to place in the country. I The local club is attempting to have- these books placed in the schools of the North Sanpete dis-I dis-I trict, and is offering a prize to the ! ?;-t.-up staging the best play to be taker, from these books. The club is trying to get the Rail-! Rail-! road Company to put a bell signal ! at the crossing at the D. and R. G. , depot on the west side of the city as a protection against accidents at ' that point. j Guy Candland was appointed chairman of a committee to wait r upon railroad officials. He will j choose his committee. |
