Show Extra Fair Day For Auto Racing The board of directors of the Utah State Fair Association has unani-' unani-' mously voted to extend the time of j the 1924 exposition by one day to make room on the schedule for a pro-;iam pro-;iam of auto racing to be staged by ihe Western Racing Association, Inc 'IMie period of the fair will be October Octo-ber 1 to 8, the final day being reserved reserv-ed for the speedy classic that will pit against each other some of America's most daring drivers. Harry Castcll, booking manager of the Western Racing Association, explained ex-plained to the fair board that eight racers, including men of the stamp of Ralph De Palma, Jimmy Murphy and Tommy Milton, would be brought here to participate. Who the others will be rests with the contest board j of the American Automobile associa- ; tion. There will be three heaU and a . final, and the contests will last two and a half hours. The Utah fair, according ac-cording to the directors, is the only exhibition of its kind in the United States, with the exception of that to be conducted by the state of New York, which will have competitions between such famous automobile racers rac-ers as will take part in the events at the fair grounds. |
