Show M;ss Mary Petersen, daughter of Mr. anil Mrs. George P. Petersen of :his city, and Mr. Franklin B. Slaugh of Vernal, Utah, were united in marriage mar-riage at the -Manti Temple Wednesday, Wednes-day, October 3. A family reception was given in their honor at the home of the bride the same evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Winkler of Ogden have been Mount Pleasant visitors vis-itors this week. Mrs. Joseph Bosen of Ephraim is a Conference visitor at Salt Lake ths week. Pres. and Mrs. A. Merz were called to Ephraim Wednesday to see another anoth-er grandson at the home of their c'aughter, Mrs. Leander Thompson. Word is received of the death of Mrs. Malisia Winters of Chester, Idaho. Ida-ho. She died Tuesday and funeral services were to be held Thursday at 2 o'clock. Thomas West and Mrs. Sylvester Barton left Wednesday to attend the funeral. Mrs. K. LeRoy Barton returned Sunday from a two-weeks visit to Ogden, Salt Lake, Brigham City and Spanish Fork. Mrs. George Ryland of Price was a Mount Pleasant visitor Wednesday and Thursday. The student-body and faculty of Wasatch Academy enjoyed their an nual autumn canyon outing Saturday to the power-plant. The trip was made in hayricks, about 125 participating. partici-pating. A camp-fire dinner was enjoyed en-joyed followed by a tramp to Sulphur Springs. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Justesen of Spring City have announced the marriage mar-riage of their daughter, Lavinia, to E. Ray Beck in Salt Lake Saturday, September 29. The young coupie are at home in Draper, Utah, after October 15, where Mr. Beck is a member of the public school faculty. Mrs. Dorothy Swensen went to Price yesterday with her daughter, Mrs. George Ryland. She expects to spend the winter at that place. Born to the wife of Byron Carter, a boy, Saturday, September 29. H. was the sponsors for a most successful success-ful get-acquainted party Thursday evening for the student-body and faculty. fac-ulty. The early part of the evening was spent at the high school building, build-ing, where games and refreshments were enjoyed after which dancing in the Armory was the entertainment feature. About 150 guests were in attendance, each one provided by the juniors, with a purple and white cap, the school colors. , Every man, woman and child J. B. Seely is over in eastern Utah on a business trip. The Wasatch Academy Seniors, chaperoned by instructor G. O. Robinson, Rob-inson, made a moon-light hike to the Rainbow Fishery Friday evening. The principal feature of the event was a chicken camp-fire supper. Boating Boat-ing and other out-door sports were also enjoyed. The staff of the "Orange and Black," the Wasatch Academy organ, met in a business conference Thur-day Thur-day afternoon at the home of Miss Esther Norton, editor-in-chief. An outline of the work was discussed and means and devices planned for a most elaborate first edition.
