Born to the wife of Hyruni Vance, Jr., at Milburn, a baby boy. Miss Anna Pehrson returned from Salt Lake City last week. Miss Elva Thompson of Salt Lake City is the guest of Miss Grace Olsen. Glen Miner is spending the week at Provo. Mrs. Lawrence Allred spent last week at Salt Lake visiting relatives. Mrs. Linden Pritchett spent last week visiting relatives at Payson. Mrs. B. F. Larsen and children of Provo are guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Day, Sr. A campfire party was . enjoyed Thursday evening by twelve members of the Social club. Amasa Mower, who has been very ill with typhoid fever is somewhat improved. Mrs. Amasa Tucker and daughter, Ellis, went to Idaho Sunday to visit her son, Oscar Tucker, and family. Mrs. G. T. Coleman, who spent the past week with relatives here, returned to her home at Thistle. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Christensen are guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Pehrson. Mrs. George Mower, Jr., came home from Provo Friday, August 10. Mr. Mower is getting along nicely but is not able to leave the hospital yet. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Anderson and son, Wendell and Mr. and Mrs. George Olsen motored to Fish Lake and spent Thursday and Friday last week. Mr. and Mrs. Allie Carlston and family and Mrs. Annie C. Bills and children motored to Salt Lake last! week and spent a few days with rela-J tives. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ashton and Miss Lillian Henderson of Provo were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Carter during the past week. Miss Dot Christensen and Miss Juanita Sanderson, who have been attending summer school in Idaho the past nine weeks, returned home Sunday. Dr. and Mrs. Thorpe, Miss Thorpe and Miss Wilson of Salt Lake City motored to Fairview and spent Saturday Satur-day and Sunday with Dr. and Mrs. John R. Anderson. On Monday evening Miss Grace Olsen entertained the Unity girls at her home. The time was spent in sewing. Music and singing was also enjoyed. Dainty refreshments were served to about twenty guests. On Tuesday evening, August 21, the playlett "The Return of Letty" will be given in connection with the Zenith picture show. It will be for the benefit of the Sunday School. Everyone is expected to be out and help the good cause. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Peterson entertained en-tertained at dinner in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Peterson, who were recently married. Other guests included in-cluded Mr. and Mrs. William Brady, Mrs. Louisa Lindq'Uist and the Misses Eythel, Tess and Blenda Lindquist. On Wednesday, August 15, Henry Terry and Mrs. J. T. Fowles entertained enter-tained the Social club at the home of Mrs. Sara- E. Fowles. The time was spent in sewing, games, music and social chat. A dainty luncheon was served to fourteen ladies. Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Tattie of Salt Lake motored to Fairview Thursday and spent the remainder of the week as guests of Mr. and Mrs. John O. j Carlston. Willard Carlston, who has been visiting at Salt Lake, returned with them. The Ladies' Literary club met at the home of Mrs. Vern Sanderson, A'Ugust 10. The time was spent in knitting. Each member will make one piece for the soldiers on the bat-jtleship bat-jtleship Utah. Dainty refreshments were served to more than a dozen ladies. |
