Show DEMOCRATS SELECT DELEGATES FOR THE COUNTY CONVENTION The Democrats of the Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant Precinct held their primary Tuesday evening, Sept. 19th, at the city hall. Parley Hansen acted as chairman and Daniel Rasmussen as Secretary of the meeting. The primary was called for the purpose of nominating twenty-three delegates and six alternates to the County Convention, nominating a Precinct Justice and a Precinct Constable, Con-stable, and for the electing of a Precinct Pre-cinct Committee. The following delegates were selected to attend the County Convention Con-vention to be held at Gunnison on Saturday, Sept. 2 3rd: Robert H. Hinckley, Dr. Phillips, J. B. Seely, C. W. Burquist, Jos. N. Seely, Henry P. Olson, Dr. Syndergaard, S. M. Nielsen, Niel-sen, Hyrum Seely, James Brown, K. F. Cordle, Chas. Jacobsen, Henry Terry, T. C. Candland, D. L. Argyle, John T. Cliff, L. C. Rasmussen, Mrs. Crace Jacobsen, Lawrence Winters, Daniel Rasmussen, Parley Hansen, J. W. Anderson, and Mrs. S. D. Longsdorf. The alternates selected are: Mrs. John Reynolds, Alma Coates, Mrs. R. McArthur, Matt Wat-kins, Wat-kins, Mrs. J. B. Seely, and Hyrum Merz. Hyrum Seely was nominated for the office of Precinct Justice, and H. W. Oliverson was nominated for Precinct Constable. The delegation was instructed to go to the county convention and vote for J. B. Seely as candidate for County Commissioner, four year term. A campaign committee of five members, one from each voting district, dis-trict, was elected as follows: Dr. H. P. Syndergaard, H. G. Ericksen, Henry P. Olson, R. McArthur, and R. H. Hinckley. This committee was Instructed to work in conjunction with the precinct nominees for office, of-fice, and to select a chairman and secretary from without their own number. The following visitors were given the privilege to speak at the primary: pri-mary: C. Willardsen and Dr. Nielsen of Ephraim, Mr. Blackham. Mr. Anderson, An-derson, and Mr. Hardy of Moroni. |
