Show BOMB DROPPED IN VVARSAWSTR EETS BROKE WINDOWS IN AMERICAN CONSULATE, SEVERAL PERSONS BEING KILLED. Incident Regarded as Indicating the Proximity of the German Advance Ad-vance Guard on Warsaw, ana Americans Warned to Leave, Washington. A bomb from a Ger. man airship fell in front of the American Amer-ican consulate at Warsaw early Tuesday, Tues-day, breaking the windows of the consulate con-sulate but injuring no one within, according ac-cording to a telegram from American. Embassador Marye at Petrograd. Several Sev-eral persons in the street in front ot tho consulate were killed and wounded, wound-ed, but none was an American. The incident was regarded here as indicating the proximity of the German Ger-man advanoe guard to Warsaw. American Amer-ican consuls received instructions early in the war to leave the zones of great danger whenever invading forces -arrived in their vicinity. It is expected here that if Warsaw becomes a battle ground of the Ger. man and Russian armies the American consul and his staff will withdraw to a place of safety. |
