Show A NIGHT IN AN AUTO A party of Mt. Pleasant-young folks started out in an automobile last Friday night to attend the dance given at Ephraim in celebration of the opening of the new Social Hall at that place. They left here about nine o'clock in the evening and were cherishing the good time that would be in store for them when they arrived at their destination. Before reaching Spring City an obstruction in the form of a missing bridge confronted them. The six passengers stepped out of the machine' and the driver attempted to cross the arroyo a short distance above, but the machine mach-ine refused to go through and a more serious problem arose namely how to get the machine out of the ditch. They soon came to the conclusion con-clusion that the only way was to push the machine out by physical force. The scene, with Rasmussen the local agent, and McArthur behind the machine and Harry Rasmussen of Fairview on the side would have made a fine reel for the moving pictures had a photographer 'boen near at hand. The boys displaced a great deal of sand in this undertaking, undertak-ing, in fact they all had on oxford s which were filled with the precious little grains irom the bed of the creek. When the party arrived at Spring City a rain storm came on and they decided that the latter place was as near Ephraim as they intended to go that .evening, and about mid-night they returned. |
