Show MScRool Last Friday and Saturday the High School teachers attended the county institute at Ephraim where they received some exceptionally rood instructions. Avery important import-ant change made there was the organizing or-ganizing of a High School section. Here-to-fore there have been but wo sections held at our county institutes, in-stitutes, one for the primary and one for the grammar grades thus the High School teachers had to attend at-tend the grammar grade department depart-ment and adopt tne methods and instructions given for these grades to the needs of High School teachers and instructions which apply directly direct-ly to High School work are to be given by a special speaker, the students will indirectly receive much benefit from the new system. Our teachers will have better material to give us and will keep more in touch with high school work in general, gen-eral, throughout the state A music section was organized also. There was a lot of class spirit shown at the basket ba'l game last Thursday and we believe that class contests of various kinds will do more toward keepir.g a lively spirit in schooi than anything else that can be done. A school without life and euthusiasm is as we see it very dull and disinteresting. This is a condition whicn we do not want to exist here and it is up to us to prevent it. Prof. Byron W. Cummings of the U. of U. is to give an extension course in Archaeology at the High School this winter which most of the local teachers, and perhaps some from neighboring towns will attend. Prof. Cummings is exceptionally except-ionally well prepared on this subject as hs has explored and studied the ruins of the ancient cliff dwellers in southern Utah and also spent two years among the ruins of Ancient Greece and Rome", he can give the work first hand to his students. His first lecture will be given Friday Oct. 18th. The first student body meeting was held last Monday. Some musical musi-cal selections vere given and the student body laws v ere voted in with a unanimous vote. A student body council was organized organ-ized consisting of two members of I each class and the student body president, Vern Gunderson. Those from the fourth year clas were: ' Stella Jensen and Joseph Day; Third year: Magnola Larson and Lyman . Seely; Second year: Roena Day and Seymoure Jensen; First year: Fanny Monsen, and John Mosver. The laws have been enforced since Tuesday morning and "Student Body Goverment" seems to be just the thing we need. We now feel proud to invite the peopleof Mt. Pleasant and neighboring neighbor-ing towns to visit our school for we think it is improving in every respect. re-spect. The students of the first year have organized their class and the following follow-ing officers were elected: Pres. Newel New-el Cox, Sec. Alta Gunderson, Treas. Annie Clemensen. An interesting game of basket ball between the seniors and the school, resulting in a score of 20 to 21 in favor of the seniors, was well attended by the students of the school. Miss Florence Ericksen returned home Sunday last after visitirg a few weeks in Salt Lake, with relatives and friends. E. R. Poulsen is a Clear Creek visitor this week. Miss Julia Omstead has gone to Provo to reside permantly. Miss Omstead, has gone to Provo to reside re-side permantly. Miss Omstead has been chief nurse at Winters'. Hospital Hos-pital for a year or more. Some people think that a person cannot be an acrobat and a vocalist also, but when one of our second year students was mounting the stage to give a vocal selection she also gave an exhitition of a new and origional German Summer Salt.
